Which Gas Appliances Do We Connect?
If it burns gas and bolts to a bench, a wall or a slab, we connect it:
- Cooktops and wall ovens, plus reworked kitchen gas lines
- Freestanding heaters and the bayonet points they plug into
- Outdoor BBQs and built-in alfresco kitchens
- Pool and spa heaters
- Fresh pipe laid to wherever the appliance goes
- Old connections tested, repaired or extended
Gas hot water units are connected the same way; the hot water hub covers choosing and sizing those systems.
Is Your Old Gas Point Still Safe?
A point installed decades back deserves a check before a new appliance hangs off it. We pressure test the line, inspect the isolating valve and the pipe run, and replace anything corroded or capped off badly.
Three signs an old point needs work before an install:
- The isolating tap seizes or weeps when turned
- Green or white crust on the exposed pipe where it leaves the wall
- The old appliance was removed years ago and the line was never sealed properly
The Install, Step by Step
- 01
Check the supply
We confirm the meter and existing line can feed the new appliance, and test what is already there.
- 02
Run the line
Pipe is routed through wall cavities, under the floor or in a trench outside, whichever the site allows.
- 03
Connect and certify
The appliance goes on, the connection is pressure tested and leak checked, and everything is signed off before the gas flows again.
How the Price Gets Set
We provide up-front, honest quotes that will always match the final price, should you decide to go ahead.
A long pipe run is what moves this price most:
- How much new pipe the run needs, and how far it travels
- Whether the line passes through brick-veneer walls, under floors or a trench
- The appliance type, since a pool heater takes far more pipe than a bayonet point
- Out-of-hours installs, priced at their own rate

When We're Not the Right Call
Swapping gas for an induction cooktop is wiring work for an electrician, not a gas fitter. If you smell gas rather than need an install, start on the gas leaks page.
Questions From Jewells Kitchens
Can you connect a gas cooktop in a Jewells kitchen?
Yes. We test the existing point first, run new pipe if the old line cannot feed the unit, and leak test the joint before the supply is turned on again. The line is certified before we leave, and the job carries our 365-day warranty on all work.
Do outdoor BBQ points near the coast need extra protection?
They do. Salt carried on the onshore wind corrodes unprotected outdoor fittings, so every connection we fit outside is sealed against the weather. An alfresco point near the surf wears much faster than one further inland.
Do you install gas pool heaters?
Yes. Pool heaters draw more gas than a BBQ or bayonet, so the run gets sized from the meter first, then the unit is connected and pressure tested. You see the fixed figure before the pipe goes in.
How long does a cooktop connection take?
A cooktop swap on a sound existing point is a short job. If the old line needs replacing, the work runs longer, and the price for that longer job is set before it begins.
